Do you want more email subscribers without paying Facebook $20 a piece?
There are 2 primary metrics I have used in my business for 18 years:
How many subscribers I generate
How much $$ those subscribers are worth once they optin
Now, getting email subscribers for free on social has gotten a lot harder lately./
But . .
you may know that about 6 months ago I started using Substack for Articles and for Subscriber Monetization.
But about 10 days ago I went serious with Substack in free social, and I'm getting 20 - 25 subscribers daily
These are coming into Substack, but I can export them to convertkit or any other autoresponder
Here’s how I’m doing it:
I find related publications in Substack that have 2000 - 10,000 or more subscribers
I subscribe to those publications
I comment on the owner’s posts and articles
I do this strategically, 1-2 comments per day, over several days.
I also notice when they are in Notes, and I support their work in Notes
I go 2 levels deep with their likes and comments, making friends with their audiences
I am specifically looking for posts and comments of interesting people who would be good subscribers, people who I would LIKE to have as followers. I am NOT just “going for the numbers.”
Yes, there is a numerical edge to this BUT I have learned over 18 years that it’s the RELATIONSHIPS that count.Once I have made the initial contact, I am primarily using the Notes feature to like, comment, and follow interesting people in way that’s tasteful, ethical, not spammy, and fun!
This is based on HUMAN INTERACTION
There is NO AI
I am a HUGE believer in the personal relationship, at scale.
So when I scale to, say 100 comments, I’m still doing it myself, and I’m still doing it with a personal touch.
I am purposely building relationships with real people in Notes.
Some people might call that old-fashioned.
And in the short run, I might lose out on a few “bucks”
But I’ve been full time in this business for 18 years.
I’m not looking for a quick buck.
I’m looking for long - term relationships with people whom I can learn from, and who can learn from me.
Obviously, beneath and behind this is your newsletter writing skill.
But that’s foundational.
The real growth occurs when you connect and build rapport and relationship!
Enjoy and let’s grow together!!!
Anyhow, if you to accelerate your sales process, I recommend my Mass Market Selling System (coupon applied for a Substack discount):
Thanks,

I am blown away by all these amazing comments! thank you!
Something people often don't think about when they're doing something like this is what YOU get out of those relationships. At first, you're trying to connect and build your newsletter but at some point you realize how much you enjoy interacting with everyone and discovering all the wonderful things THEY bring to Substack.
