Why I Believe 2025 is the Year of Substack Momentum
One Platform that Rules Them All for 2025
Here’s the thing, platforms have cycles.
There is the early adopter phase, when you don’t know if something will take off.
Then there is the grind it out and work real hard phase because there’s not enough traffic to go around.
3) Then there’s a momentum phase, where there’s a sweet spot and you can get lots of traffic and grow a big audience. (Substack right now)
Then everyone else comes on board and it gets harder and harder to gain traction but if you are already established you grow. (Instagram)
And then there’s the end stage where everyone is buying ads to get where you were 5 years ago. (Facebook)
Last year, Skool was in the early momentum phase, it was super easy to get started (it still is, just a lot more noise)
Facebook is huge as always, and they are selling ads like crazy and you have to master the algorithm.
And then there is Substack.
I believe Substack has just emerged from the grind it out stage, take a look at this image:

I don’t have 2024 numbers yet, but it’s clear to me it’s entering momentum (and you can also feel it in the Notes)
I also like Substack because it is actually 3 things in one:
Articles/newsletters (like ezinearticles was)
Email delivery (unlike anything else, it’s not an autoresponder BUT you can send a daily email and even export subscriber emails!)
You can have paid memberships native right inside of Substack! (I like an external membership because I think it can be more profitable, but for beginners or huge lists, the native one makes sense)
Now, I have been in this business for 18 years, so I have seen the rise and fall of so many platforms (anyone remember squidoo, or ezinearticles, or aol dialup?)
Here is my prediction:
Social on Substack is new, the last few months. When the big boys and girls figure out what me and a handful of producers are doing right now, and 1000s of them come in . . . the feed will become a frenzy just like everywhere else.
Right now it’s super clean, people are friendly, no spam or junk.
NOW is the time to build organically and build the biggest newsletter you can before it gets cluttered.
Email deliverability will go down.
Once the volume comes in, substacks will start going into spam boxes. Now, deliverability is good.
And the memberships will be flooded.
NOW is the time.
Here’s the thing, I STILL get a significant percentage of my income from the asset client base I built on ezinearticles 18 years ago.
If you build on Substack THIS YEAR:
Let’s say you build a 10,000 subscriber newsletter, which I believe anyone can using the Substack Lifestyle system
You can carry that asset - and it’s income - into the future for YEARS.
By the way, If YOU want the entire Blueprint, I invite you to join me at my Brand New
Substack Lifestyle Mentorship that just opened officially today and conversion rates are high!
P.S. if you are new to my world, and don’t know my history . . . the short story is there was an article directory called ezinearticles . . . it was very much like Substack, except no email, no membership, and no social.
But I engineered a funnel that worked like crazy . . .
I started by writing 1500 articles myself in about a year . .
Then I hired writers to write 23,500 articles (yes, that was about $5 per article investment, back then):
And I collected 100,000 subscriber emails in 3 years
And around $1.5 million in sales through my newsletter funnel
I don’t say that to brag.
I say that to say, I’ve done this before, but it was 10x harder.
I am planning to use Substack to do the SAME thing I did there . . .
But 10x easier.
If YOU want the entire Blueprint, and build your own big newsletter right alongside me, I invite you to join me at my Brand New
It’s in early charter enrollment for 3 days, then I’ll close the doors.

I love Substack...
I had actually decided to create my newsletter on Beehiiv, but at the last moment, I changed my mind.
I love the community here, even though I'm shy and normally not into social media.
Those comments and replies - they give me new inspiration for Notes and posts. And lots of good feelings.
Yes, 2025 will definitely be the year of Substack.
The Big Three in my mind are Substack, Beehiive, and Medium.
All have their pluses and minuses and their following. I see some Bloggers and Newsletter "gurus" suggest you need to be on at least two if not all three.
You need to decide which is the better fit for you.
Personally, I am on Substack and looking hard at Medium.
